Westminster Dog Show '13: A user's best friend

NEW YORK — Ladies and gentlemen, now warming up in the Westminster dogpen, the Bronx Bowser. Meet sweet Mitch, a 5-year-old yellow Labrador retriever.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A collie breeder from Butler County has three dogs competing in the famed Westminster Dog Show in New York. Monday morning, Heather Luster took a young collie called Marilyn Monroe through her paces, as judges looked on.

The two-day, 137th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show begins today at Piers 92/94 where there will be 187 different breeds taking part.

The Westminster Dog Show is not always so glamorous, and it is not only for the jet-setting men and women in fur coats who spend six figures training and promoting their precious purebreds. It is also, just this once, for Dagmar Parker from Rockaway, N
